New Challenge Blog!!!!
My friend Siobhan has started a new challenge blog, Use it Tuesday—Challenging you to dig into your scrappy stash! She is a hoarder… just like the rest of us and I think this is a great push to use up those goodies that you have been tucking away for another day!
Challenge #1 is to make something with an image you have not previously used for a project. This challenge hits home with me… since I seem to be a stamp hoarder. I used the set Swirled Spring Life, a hostess set from The Angel Company. Which as it turns out, not only have I not used it… but I have two of them… don’t laugh.
I tried out the faux chalkboard technique by stamping in white on black CS and coloring with colored pencils… then I had some major fun doodling. I’ve never doodled like this on a card, but loved it! The wood grain is from a fiskars texture plate inked up with Burnt Umber.
Stamp: Swirled Spring Life
Ink: New Canvas, Burnt Umber Palette
Paper: kraft, black, pink CS
Other: rick rack, prisma pencils, fiskar texture plate
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, please let me know what you think. Swing by and check out the challenge blog and play along, you are sure to have fun!

This is so cute. I can't believe u have 2 of these and never used it. :)
Oh my gosh, you totally win! You have TWO! LOL (Ok, so maybe...just maybe, I have had a duplicate as well...but it is still fun to make fun of you for it! :) )
I love this technique and I think TAC needs to pay you to design those doodles for them!
Thanks for playing with us at Use It Tuesday!!
Oooh Ahhh....an unused stamp set AND a new technique! I love the doodling!
As far as your duplicate set...she who lives in glass houses with duplicate stamp sets will not cast any stones...LOL
I feel your pain - I too "think" I may be have stamp hoarders disease - but oh what a fun thing to have. I have found stamp sets I didn't remember I had (and yes even 2 once). Great card and love all the doodles.
okay, I have to admit- I laughed :-) absolutely love the card- so cute. I really should start a blog to play along . . .
This is so fun. It reminds me of my bagel shop's neon "chalk" signs. Love it!
Your card definitely looks like chalkboard! How cool! I have this set and have used it once or twice... But I bet I have a set that hasn't yet be inked! LOL!
