Fabulous You---Fundamental Frames

Today’s Fabulous You featured set by The Angel Company is Fundamental Frames. The guest designer for today is Yuki Zepeda on The Savvy Projects Blog. Don’t forget to check out her examples and join in the fun if you have this set… if not… I hope that some of the examples give you inspiration to get creative today!



The fabulous thing about Fundamental Frames is that they coordinate with Nestabilitie Dies! This one was stamped in Bordeaux Palette then cut and embossed with Labels 9. The sentiment is from the set Thinking of You and was stamped in Cote d’Azure Palette.

The background was fun to make. I embossed with the Flowers Impressabilites Die and kept it in place. I then randomly sponged it with the two inks… Makes an awesome patterned paper! The little pearl flowers are from the clear and pearl Gem Collection. I added a ribbon and there you have it!

July Angel Blog Hop

Its that time again! Another Blog Hop with some of my fellow Angels on Paper Wings! This month the theme is Christmas in July! How exciting is that! I used this opportunity to try and catch up on my Christmas Card Club numbers, making a certain number of cards every month so by the time December rolls around you are all set to put them in the mail!

I made four of each design, it was so nice to use the same image from Flowers and Holly, as I colored them all first and then to make two designs I only had to choose the papers once! The first one I used circle and scallop punches on it. I ran scor lines on the green and then went over them with my scor-bug... so neat!



I went for some weaving on the second one, and cut out my image... that is a lot of close cutting!

With Sympathy

My husband asked me last night to make a sympathy card for him. A coworker recently lost his mother and he wanted a card for all to sign and give to him to show their sorrow at his loss. So I went to my bat cave... err craft room and set to work. It is much easier to make a sympathy card when you are out of loop, I don't think that I could concentrate on putting one together in the midst of mourning. I ended up making two, thinking that he could have one on hand for any future need and I believe that I'll make up some to have as well.

The first card uses the Anchor to the Soul set for the chair, Thinking of you a hostess set for the front sentiment and the inside sentiment is from a retired set His Angels. I used Amberley Grace paper and the With Sympathy is stamped on a TAG that I trimmed the end off of.





The second card uses a retired set called His Angels for the angel and front sentiment, inside is from Thinking of You hostess set. I used iridescent medium on the wings, halo and accents of the gown to add sparkle though you can't see it in this view.





These are bigger than my normal A2 cards at 7 by 4 3/4 (I grabbed a Hallmark card and measured it) then found a tutorial online to make envelopes for any card size.

Precious Moments

So, working on my Christmas Card Club (CCC) cards has brought me to this adorable Precious Moments stamp. I admit, I have a bit of a fascination with Precious Moments... my Grandma collects them and for as long as I can remember she has had tons of them scattered around decorating her home. I have built up a little collection myself, some that are near and dear to my heart, so creating something with this makes me happy!



I colored the little guy in with Copics, and did some edge sponging. I made three of these... meeting my monthly Christmas Card goal for March... I know, it is April now, but I finished them in March... so hmmm

I love flowers...

I love flowers, may not be too good at keeping them alive, but I love them. So I find it strange that the plants I have the best luck with are African Violets... they are so picky, need lots of water but the leaves and flowers die if you touch them. Along comes the specific pot for them, where you put water in the bottom and an insert in it with the plant... easy peasy! My son, aka Pickle, and I each picked one out last year and they are blooming again now. He says his is "beautiful" and that mine isn't as pretty... I say if it has blooms and is thriving it is all good! It was so nice to look at them with the snow out the window behind them, but now the snow is melted and I can't wait for more flowers... just grown by someone else!

Along those lines here is the cute little flower girl again from the Wonder and Joy set. I played along with a few challenges... it makes it sooo much fun!

Bring on Spring!

Winter has been rough this year, I am so tired of shoveling snow. Although I do love the fresh clean look of new fallen snow covering everything. So with spring in mind, I made this flower pot girl card. The Wonder and Joy set is so adorable. The expressions on their faces are great. The next two cards I made ten of each for a fellow Angel Maria. She is doing a Thank You booth at a Health Fair where people can sign thank you cards to send overseas to soldiers.

Just Because

I love when I get to disappear into my craft room to play... and that involves working around a very busy four year old boy. So when my husband says go for it, I go! So I've been listening to giggles and shouts as they take on the world... atleast in a Wii game.... downstairs. I wanted to play along with a motivational sketch on Paper Wings... check out the gallery, awesome examples of TAC stamp sets in use... and thought that this cute little guy was perfect since my boy is on my mind! This is for Laurie's Motivational sketch, SK10. I colored him in with PrismaColor Pencils and blended with OMS. I am really starting to love the VersaMagic inks, such pretty colors and you can do different things with them. I used Night Sky, Gingerbread, and Brick Red here.

Thanks Mama Monkey for the photo taking tips you gave me... had to improvise and will go get some poster board right away! But the picaso fix was great!
