March Blog Hop with Paper Wings!

Hello! Its time for another blog hop with Paper Wings, a wonderful place to go for inspiration It is full of examples using The Angel Company stamps and papers!

This month our theme is Spring…. and it couldn’t come soon enough! I picked out my papers first, I decided to go with the More Mimi SWIC Collection. They are so bright and pretty and just what I needed!

PW Mar 2011 Hop

The flowers are from the watercolor plants set that is so fun to play with. I colored the stamps with Aquacolor crayons and spritzed with water to stamp. I used Burnt Umber palette to stamp the sentiment from tag tidbits and the distressing from background soup.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Yesterday was Pickle’s kindergarten class Fall Festival. I made some goody bags for all of the kids with fun trinkets and treats and also made a bookmark for each of them. I used Spooktacular and colored it with aqua color crayons. The PP is from Target one spot.

This card I made for Pickle. It just tickles me how much he enjoys crafts right along with me! When I went for my scrap retreat he wanted to go, as he could bring his own stamps and ink pads… he is too cute. This year he is being Night Fury from how to train a dragon movie and so I thought that this little guy from Delightfully spooky would be perfect! I colored him with copics and as you can see in the closeup, popped up his hood and arms. The PP is from Target one spot packs. I used the scor-bug for some added bumps.

A funny missing you card

I like funny sayings, they really can get the point across at times when the sweet stuff can't. They also lighten up the mood, like when you are missing someone. I used Funny Farm and Funny Farm Phrases for this card. The Phrases I used are "I feel so miserable without you." on the outside and "It's almost like having you here." on the inside... I think it is too funny! I colored my sheep using aquacolor crayons using a water brush.

Thanks for taking a look, let me know what you think! Have a wonderful week!

Lotsa' Love

Its Stamp Set Motivational time! This round I challenged fellow Angels on Paper Wings to put their PWP (Purchase with Purchase) stamp sets to use. Cute little stamp sets that you can get for only $2.95 after a $30 order! Check out the Paper Wings Gallery for some examples of them being used as well!

This one uses the set Lotsa' Love. I wet Aqua color crayons and colored directly on the stamps. The sentiments are stamped with Night Sky Versa Magic ink. The purple flowers are popped up and I added sparkle here and there with a glitter pen. The butterfly "trails" are alternating blue zig pen and glitter pen dots.

I'm playing along with a couple of challenges:

Order of the Opus Gluei #49 wanted some sparkle!
Flutter By Wednesday #104 also wanted some sparkle with a butterfly, fairy, or angel

Thanks for taking a look, let me know what you think and have a wonderful day!

Stamp Set Motivational SSM05

So I discovered just how quickly two weeks can go by when I let myself get lost in the tidal wave that is blog land.... I am such a browser, and I love playing in challenges. I also just discovered the digital image world... oh yeah!

On to why I'm here... yeah, I loose my train of thought at times. Every other week I host a stamp set motivational on Paper Wings, a forum for TAC demos but an amazing gallery that is open to all! This time I decided it was time to bring out the words! I LOVE to color, and that usually pushes all the words right out the window, or to a serious backseat. I had so much fun with this card using our Marvelous Mottos Stamp Set. My wonderful Aunt just ordered the set and I thought maybe I should pull mine out to get some use out of it again... yeah, things tend to disappear and be forgotten, which is why I like to pop through everything to reacquaint myself every now and then.

I used a water brush and Aqua Color crayons to color. I put some sparkle on the Congrats fireworks with some stickles! And even the black button has sparkles!

Thanks for taking a look, let me know what you think! Have a wonderful day!

Bring on Spring!

Winter has been rough this year, I am so tired of shoveling snow. Although I do love the fresh clean look of new fallen snow covering everything. So with spring in mind, I made this flower pot girl card. The Wonder and Joy set is so adorable. The expressions on their faces are great. Visit the Paper Wings Gallery to view more examples of them.

The next two cards I made ten of each for a fellow Angel Maria. She is doing a Thank You booth at a Health Fair where people can sign thank you cards to send overseas to soldiers.

Hope that you like them, let me know what you think and have a wonderful day!

Cupcakes on Parade

I have started hosting a Stamp Set Motivational on Paper Wings Online, a gathering place of angels everywhere as well as a gallery that is open for all to see and search by stamp set. I choose stamp sets every two weeks and try to use as many of the stamps as I can. This is my first week and one of my examples is this card.

I colored in the images from Cupcake Cuties using Aquacolor Crayons. The cute patterned paper is from Sands of Time. The green frosted cupcake is popped up.

I hope that you like it, let me know what you think.

November Angel Art Blog Hop

It is blog hop time again with some fellow Angels on Paper Wings! Great place to find examples that you can search out by stamp set. This month we are doing Holiday Cards & Tags in 10 minutes or less. Your card must be able to be assembled in 10 minutes or less, start to finish. So be sure to click the links below to see what everyone has made!

This was a challenge for me, I love to color and most of my coloring methods take a long time with all the blending involved. I chose to use my AquaColor crayons for these examples, you can fly right through coloring making it feasible to make alot of them for sending out to friends and family!

This first card uses stamps from Gingerbread Fun and Trendy Greetings. I used a paper piercer and Scor-Bug. I stamped stars on the red with Versa Mark ink.

This card uses the Level C Hostess set Seasonal Snow Globes. Super cute set to use year round. I added a curvy edge with the cloud scissors and again the paper piercer.

This card showcases my new favorite tool, the Scor-Bug... I can't get over the little "extra" something it gives to cards and layouts and it is so easy to use. Stamps are from Flowers and Holly and Vintage Santa.

Check out these great examples in the blog hop!

October Angel Art Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be playing along in another Angel Art Blog Hop! Fellow Angels and I are doing a "All Things Fall" themed Blog Hop this month. I decided to do a Halloween wall hanging... my first attempt at anything like this. It was certainly fun and I kept changing and adding as I went! Take a look and let me know what you think, then be sure to hop through the other blogs to see what they have to share too! Thanks for looking!

For the background I colored with aquacolor crayons and a water brush, then added some chalking. The lamposts (hinge stamps :-) and bushes were first stamped and embossed with transcendence. The castle was cut out on my Wishblade, thanks to the Yahoo Wishblade group for the file!

For the moon I colored in with copics, covered with Crystal Lacquer and then popped up another set of bats for depth.

These kids were colored with copics then cut and popped up. I added a little yellow chalk to theme for moonlight. Can you tell that I am having fun with lots of different types of coloring?

My tombstones were cut and sponged with Noir Palette ink. I scribbled on them with a black slick writer and added some yellow chalking to them too. I only popped the top of these.

Now Hop Along to these Angel Blogs!

Sketch Motivational SK08

I'm participating in my first Paperwings Sketch Motivational. It is great to use a sketch from someone else and piece everything together to fit it! I was so excited to get done and posted, I think some of my watercolor is still wet under the bat! It showed up more in the picture than real life!

I stamped Simply Divine on white CS using Noir Palette. Spooktacular is stamped with Noir Palette then heat embossed with Transcendence. It is colored with aquacolor crayons using a water brush. There are some faux stitches using a white Souffle Gelly Pen.

On another note, I just got my copy of the new Fall Magalogue, Inspiration Avenue in that becomes available on September 1st! I am in awe, there are so many wonderful new stamp sets, as well as a few sets that are coming back into play that make me soooo happy!

Let me know what you think! Have a great weekend!

Always Remember.....

Always Remember.... seems like I am always trying to remember too many things. I am a list person, I have good intentions when writing out lists of things to do, but then my lists disappear. Its always fun to find an old list and see what I did or did not get done on it!

I made this card to send to someone special that has been a little down and I think needs to remember how beautiful she is, through and through. I sometimes forget how important it is to remind the people in our life what they mean to us, and what better way than a handmade card with a note from you!

I used Always Remember and Flower Collage Trio, stamped with Noir Palette ink and Versa Magic, colored with Aquacolor Crayons using a water brush.

I started scrapbooking to be able to share photos and memories in beautiful ways, more than just a boring photo album. Since being introduced to the wonderful world of stamps and coloring... I have slacked off in my scrapbooking. I am now working to incorporate the stamping I love into my layouts. This layout uses stamps from Always Remember, the same set as the card and Amberley Grace paper. I also stamped on one of the tags in the paper kit, tied on some floss and popped it up.

As always, let me know what you think! Email me if you have any questions!

Cowboy Thank You Card

I have had so much fun making this card, and am very happy with the results! I used Prismacolor pencils to color the cowboy, cactus and fence. My first time using this particular technique with the Prismacolors, I saw it on the Oz-somestamps Blog, really great video. I cut them out and layered them over a watercolored background done with aquacolor crayons and a water brush. Then mounted it on blue cardstock.

"Thank You" is a former Gift with Purchase stamp set and is stamped using Noir Pallete Pad. The cowboy and cactus are from the "Wild West" stamp set. If you are interested in purchasing these products, please contact me.

Let me know what you think! I hope that you like it.
